Anyways, I am sure for the inexperience or the very experience, a first date could be exciting, fresh or even daunting. So here is my own version of Dating 1o1 (me not very experience lah but still want to act as if i am one...kaka).
I think the first thing many should think of in a first date is to have fun. Dates are meant to be fun. So try not to think too much into the date and try to be yourself. I have separated this article up into 3 sections. The first being pre-dating.
Pre-dating (Before the date)
Location. This is for the guys since we initiate the date most often then not. When asking someone out for a date of course the location is important. You don't want somewhere too private or your date might think you could be a potential pervert. So a good place is always somewhere open like a cafe or a lunch place. For the man, some creativity is good. Don't be a cheapskate and ask them to go mamak then later go to a taman and watch those mat rempit flying here and there. Total turn off!! Try to select a spot thats relaxing and casual with ample opportunity to show off your chatting skills and mental creativity. Best would be a place you are familiar with. You don't want to be blur of your surroundings on your first date (believe me in this guys, I am a living testament)
Asking her out. Best is to call her direct for a date. Please don't sms her and ask her out or she might question your sincerity. Besides, its harder to say no when you talk to her on the phone. You can use your natural charm to make her change her mind if there is any doubts in her mind.
Tell a friend. This is a good idea for girls. Tell a friend that your going for a date with a guy you fancy (especially if you have never met him before and have only spoken through him through blogs or other Internet medium). A girl friend of mine has this neat trick of giving a miss call to her good pal when the date turned dull. The pal will call her back and chat for a few minutes. She then proceed and gave a good excuse that she is being reminded of a prior appointment and takes her leave.
Dress code. Dress to impress but do try to keep it casual. Pick something that your comfortable with and please wear something appropriate for the place your going. You wouldn't want to wear sexy low cut dress and later realise this chepo guy is bringing you to mamak don't you? So check where your going before hand.
What to expect. This is important. Do not go into a date expecting sparks to happen and wedding bells calling (even if you are that desperate!). You are just meeting a friend ok so don't give yourself any pressure to suggest otherwise. If the date blossom to something more then congratulations (your are one step closer to going to bed with her... haha. Ops sorry, this is suppose to be a serious post), but if you find that there is no chemistry then at least you've had a good time.
Next Part : Dating time! (Your hands are sweaty, heart beating fast. What to do ahhhh!!)
To be continued on next post :P

Hmm.... haven't had a first date for a long long time eh? :P

Thanks, blogging is still very new to me even though this is my 3rd try. First time i am actually blogging seriously I should say.
I already got yours bookmarked by the way :)
chee hoe, your "first date" means the first one before or after you got her to be your "formal" gf?
The first date i am referring to is before you got her as your gf.
Its more like you met the girl/guy your pretty interested via an acquaintance, online or just randomly and this would be the first time you officially go out with her on a date.
okie. thanks for the clarification. i've never had that coz usually we've known for quite some time (as normal friend who always meet).. then hard to define when is the FIRST time loh ^_^
Chee Hoe: Thanks man and i'm linking u too
Haan,
Hmm... never been into a relationship with an old friend. I think sometimes its hard having feelings for an old friend. If sparks would have happened then it would have years ago.
Aronil,
I'll be doing links to those i read regularly soon. So bear with me ya.
wow chee hoe, am feeling so honoured to be your 2nd after Aronil. i've been always making friends lately through blogging :) feeling nice.
The more friends the merrier :)
