Have you ever wondered where does the cabin crew sleep during long haul flights?
Here's what I found out
Airbus A340
Here's what I found out
Airbus A340
Boeing 747 - 400
Boeing 777
KLM (I think they got a real cozy bed there don't you think?)

before the airbus...i wonder how did they sleep? it's the same here in US...and they're not budget airlines. don't have beds for them to sleep!
With the increase of fuel prices, I won't be surprised that the only luxury the cabin crew has would be sleeping while standing.
the last pic... erm... a bit.. you know..
it is not based on wht the airline company is a budget one or the increase of fuel prices, but rather the flight requirement. A340 is a widebody aircraft n thus fly long-haul, n with tat in mind, it is designed with crew beds. Smaller aircrafts such as B737, which we refer to as narrowbody aircrafts (typically the ones tat r used to serve domestic routes) r not equipped with these facilities as they r not meant to do long-haul flights. if the flying hours do not exceed a certain amount of hours to be categorized as long-haul, u do not hav to giv crew rest period.
the pic showing the air asia cabin crew, is actually the crew station. it refers to the crucial seat tat they take for take-off n landing, as the exits must be manned during these critical phases of flight.
hope the above clarifies ;-P
I know what your trying to say. Initially I wanted to distort the picture but I guess that would be worse since its pixelating something that is not there.
Steph,
Thx for the info.
The main reason for the post was just to take a piss at AirAsia :D
well....they are getting high pay.
I guess thats worth it
i've seen this before, they say actually it's a chinese airline, and not airasia's.
yes i agree with cindy. i saw this before somewherer and they actually say that its a china arilin enot airasia.
hoho Tony Fernandes gonna cry always kena flame
Sad to add, but it really ISN'T Air Asia. Not that, I like Air Asia any better. Lolx. You should see how the crew slept or rested back in the ole days. They normally reserve the back row in Economy class for the crew to rest.
3point,
Yup, they are getting high pay as well as a chance to travel all around the world. One of my school mate is a steward with MAS. He's enjoying himself even after 8 years doing it.
cindy,
They are not from AirAsia? Ops... i got it off a forwarded mail. Can't help myself from sharing it here :)
adrianc,
I think tony is more or less immune to the flaming. Mine is just but a minute speck of irrelevancy =))
gerald,
I've been traveling on air since 97 but never had it occurred to me how the cabin crew sleep to be honest. Initially I thought they don't have any sleep while doing their job. Somehow the concept of sleeping on the job didn't come into mind.
that's not even Air Asia.. even if it is.. you all ought to thank air asia even tho how much they suck. without them, there will be no cheap flights now in the market...
you pay peanuts you get peanuts.. simple.. luxury don't come cheap.
Look as if the row of beds does give the opportunity to the crew for a "quickie" if needed...
Thomas,
Yup, you do pay for what you get. I am actually pretty satisfied with AirAsia. The only downside are the notorious flight delays that one may encounter.
Mun,
A "quickie" in the sky? Now that sounds really interesting =)
haha, air asia, super saver...lol
The first picture is a 747-400 and not a A340.
How I know? Check this: http://www.airliners.net/photo/KLM---Royal/Boeing-747-406M/1031335/L/
The last picture's not of air asia
